Bird watching and Hiking | Package 2: 1 day guided tour | Package 3: Your Family in Africa
Package 1: Bird watching and Hiking $20.00
Asambeni’s expert guides will take you on a hike through the mountains where you can explore unique rock forms, or photograph rare and indigenous birds found only in South Africa.
You can choose to hike through the breathtaking eastern Lebombo mountains on the Mozambique border or brave the western range from Kaal Rug on the border with Barberton and Swaziland.
Package 2: 1 day guided tour $25.00
Join us in a journey past traditional huts where cattle still roam free. Visit a genuine ‘sangoma’ who will fascinate you with her knowledge of traditional herbal medicines, and maybe even try them out on you! Do your ancestors approve of your lifestyle or are they angered by it? Ask the Sangoma and she’ll find out for you….if you so dare to know.
At the end of the day, you will also have a chance to sample
authentic Swazi food inside a local’s hut.
Other Highlights:
Jesus’ Footprint: Legend has it that Jesus himself walked through the Nkomazi and left his footprint here. Check it out for yourself!
Matsamo Lake: Stand on the wall and look into Swaziland. The largest earth-walled dam in the southern hemisphere was built to control the water to the sugar plantations.
Samora Machel Monument: Steel pipes atop of a desolate hill lament the still controversial death of Samora Machel through ethereal chimes. This site offers stunning panoramic views of the country side at sunset.
Machel led the Fremilo army against Renamo during the 20 year war in Mozambique. Nelson Mandela married Samoras widow, Gracia.
Package 3: Your Family in Africa $70.00
